On Wednesday 9th April, 2025, the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) EuPRAXIA Doctoral Network met for their annual Supervisory Board meeting to review project progress, including deliverables and milestones, and to celebrate Fellow’s achievements to date.

The meeting took place at The National Institute for Optics (CNR-INO) in Pisa, Italy, following the conclusion of the Network’s Camp I on laser and plasma technology. The meeting began with a welcome from the Network Coordinator, Professor Carsten P Welsch.
The meeting saw a review of the activities that have been carried out across the network as well as offering reminders to Fellows and Board Members on processes and requirements. Highlights from the broader EuPRAXIA project were also brought into the spotlight at this point.
All twelve Doctoral Network Fellows were able to join the meeting, whether online or in person, and the meeting continued with a presentation from each Fellow, giving an update on their progress and their key achievements.
Hearing from Fellows was a real focal point of the meeting and members of the Network’s Steering Committee congratulated them on the breath of activities that they have carried out. In addition to focussing on their research, many Fellows have taken opportunities to have language classes in the local language where they are based, to join conference organising committees, and to teach. The Steering Committee also commented that it was positive to see that so many Fellows had taken opportunities to go to conferences, disseminating their research and forging new connections in the process.
Following on from the Fellow’s updates, there was a discussion on future network events, such as the upcoming Camp II on Science, taking place in Lisbon on the 14th and 15th July 2025 and Camp III on Innovations, which will be held at the University of Pecz in Hungary on 6th and 7th October 2025.
Hannah Acton, a member of the Project T.E.A.M. from the University of Liverpool/Cockcroft Institute, then gave an update on project communication and dissemination, before Professor Welsch concluded the meeting, thanking everyone for their participation.
The next Supervisory Board meeting for the EuPRAXIA Doctoral Network will take place in July 2026, in Liverpool, during the Advanced Skills and Career Training Workshop and Symposium Week. The exact date and time will be confirmed nearer to the event.
