Theoretical and Technological Studies into Femtosecond Synchronization
Institute: INFN
Supervisors: Marco Bellaveglia and Luca Piersanti
Xianghe Fang is from China. He attained his Bachelor’s degree from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, specialized in Electronics. Following this, he got his Master’s degree in Radio Physics, with a focus on microwave devices.
Xianghe gained some experience regarding accelerator physics during his past studies. His undergraduate thesis centers on improving electron beam quality within RF devices, which was rewarded as the Excellent Bachelor Thesis. During his postgraduate program, he studied his core courses related to accelerator physics at Tsinghua University and gradually gained insights of accelerator facilities. The topic of his master thesis is a design of a high power microwave device, which can be widely used in accelerator system for RF power supply.
Currently, Xianghe is one of the doctoral fellows in the EuPRAXIA-DN. He is based at INFN-LNF, carrying out his research activities within SPARC_LAB. His project is concentrated on studying and supressing the main jitter sources in a photo-injector and developing a fast intra-pulse feedback system prototype at X-band.
In his spare time, Xianghe enjoys watching movies, with a particular interest in indie films. His passion for storytelling extends into photography, where he enjoys capturing the beauty of nature and everyday life through his lens. Additionally, Xianghe finds relaxation and rejuvenation in swimming, which he views as both a physical challenge and a meditative escape from his rigorous research.
